What’s covered by BEAM car insurance?

You can choose between 2 types of cover:

  • Comprehensive: this is the highest level of insurance available. You're covered for accidental damage or theft of your car, injuries to other people and damage to their vehicle or property, as well as fire damage and vandalism.
  • Third party, fire and theft: this covers your car if it’s damaged by fire or stolen, as well as injury to others, or damage to their vehicle or property. It doesn't cover damage to your vehicle.

Optional extras available with your cover

    • AA Breakdown: Roadside

    Get 24/7 help if your vehicle breaks down over ¼ mile from your home 4.

    • AA Breakdown: Roadside and National Recovery

    The same cover as our standard Roadside add-on, plus we'll take you and your vehicle to any UK destination – however far it is 4.

    • Motor Legal Assistance

    Get up to £100,000 in legal assistance, a 24/7 legal helpline and a range of online legal documents.

    • Excess Protection

    Claim your excess back when you’re at fault, or if the others involved in the accident can’t be identified.

    • Motor Accident Plan

    Improve on the personal injury cover included in our comprehensive policy, with added benefits if you have an accident.

Online legal documents service

Motor Legal Assistance additional cover comes with an online legal documents service, for both BEAM and AA customers.

If you've bought Motor Legal Assistance and want to access the service, just register with your car insurance policy number on our legal documents portal.


Important information

1 Comprehensive cover provides a courtesy car while your car is being repaired at an approved garage.

2 Only for comprehensive cover and non-fault claims where the other driver is identified and not insured. Registration number, make and model of the other vehicle is required.

3 Up to £500 for all occupants (maximum limits apply per person). You'll need to pay for your travel and hotel expenses, then reclaim them from your insurer.

4 The service is limited to 1 call-out during the policy year, but additional call-outs are available on a pay-for-use basis.

The underwriter of your car insurance policy will be provided from our panel of insurers.
