It has everything to get your class involved in a good maths investigation once a week throughout the year: A4 problem cards for pairs to share (or you can print out multiple copies from the CD-ROM); enough equipment for a class of children working in pairs on the same problem at the same time; a teachers’ book and a CD-ROM of the problems, activity sheets and notes - all in a neat storage box. There are problems about finding all the possibilities, diagram problems and visual puzzles, problems involving finding rules and describing patterns, and logic puzzles. Each problem has an extension for the able mathematician. There is help in encouraging children to explain their methods and in analysing their strategies.
The equipment: plain counters, numbered counters, digit cards, wooden sticks, square tiles and tetronimo shapes.
