- How to introduce numeracy activities in ways suitable for young children
- To look at how to provide a gradual transition from Reception to Year 1 in both content and learning provision that helps children be confident in and enjoy mathematics

- How to balance the EYFS curriculum and the Renewed Framework for teaching mathematics for Year 1
- Providing an appropriate classroom environment for Year1 and how routines and activities can be adopted from Reception
- The importance of using practical resources
- The developing need for differentiation
- Guidance for parents on how to support their children in Year 1
