| Working
together
How can I encourage children to work
together more effectively?
How can we develop mathematics
teaching and learning across the school?
What sort of classroom and school
communities are best for learning?
Find the answers at
the BEAM 2008 conference!
The BEAM conference is a
great opportunity to explore
the classroom communities
we need to foster to encourage effective learning,
particularly through productive group work in
mathematics. Drawing on research and their extensive
experience, Mike Askew and Lynne McClure will explore
ways of working that are
shown to engage learners and raise standards.
They will also look at
how good practice in mathematics education can have an impact beyond
the mathematics classroom and help children become both effective learners
and community builders.
The conferences will be held in the following venues:
King’s College,
Strand,
London,
WC2
Bridgewater Hall,
Lower Mosley Street,
Manchester,
M2 3WS
Holland House Hotel,
Redcliffe Way,
Bristol,
BS1 6SQ
