A course for Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers
and mathematics subject leaders
Electronic boards provide an exciting opportunity for
creative and
effective learning of mathematics. The range of functions
and
peripherals available for electronic boards offer opportunities
for
modelling, problem solving and interactive tasks. The
focus will be
on pedagogy rather than technical skills and the ideas
and activities
will be suitable for all types of electronic boards.
On this course you will:
- explore how features of electronic boards, such
as drag and
drop and hide and reveal, promote mathematical learning
- investigate
the use of electronic boards for shape and space
and ratio and proportion activities
- consider ways
to use a digital camera to promote
mathematical learning
- look at creative uses of electronic
boards for
problem-solving activities
