Using ICT to support counting, understanding number and calculating

A course for Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers, mathematics and ICT subject leaders

ICT is one of the tools that can contribute to promoting mathematical thinking. To make the most of the equipment available, whether an electronic board, PDA or computer, it is important to understand how to use it creatively and effectively to develop mathematical learning.

On this course you will:

  • explore how the electronic board can support number concepts
  • look at the use of Excel to develop number and calculation skills
  • explore the use of floor robots and scanners to support the number agenda
  • consider the creative use of PDAs in mathematics
  • look at how to develop and link number imagery in whole class teaching

London: Fri 25 Jan 2008 (LON24)
