Using mathematics creatively and effectively at Key Stage 2

A course for Key Stage 2 teachers and mathematics subject leaders

It is important to understand exactly what is meant by ‘creativity’ in mathematics, particularly in relation to using and applying mathematics. This understanding will influence the strategies and activities used to help children develop and express their creativity in mathematics.

On this course you will:

  • explore creative approaches to using and applying mathematics
  • look at ways to develop mathematical reasoning
  • consider the role of the calculator in working creatively
  • explore speaking and listening strategies
  • identify inclusive strategies that are challenging and motivating

London: Tues 22 Jan 2008 (LON21)
