A course for Key Stage 2 teachers and mathematics subject leaders

The ‘Big Ideas’ in mathematics form the basis of all mathematical concepts and are a fundamental part of children’s mathematical understanding. Working creatively with the Big Ideas is integral in developing children’s mathematical learning.

On this course you will:

  • consider the nature of Big Ideas in mathematics at Key Stage 2
  • consider how to integrate problem-solving approaches into every mathematics lesson
  • explore the creative use of equipment
  • look at differentiation in the context of Big Ideas
